Testing for the Joint Admissions Testing Program typically ends in February. It is better to go ahead and get the testing done as early in the fall as possible to make sure you can book a good convenient appointment.

The National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS) website has this posting written by Wendy Carlise. She defines Montessori not as a “teaching method” but rather more holistically as ”the development of the human being to its fullest potential.” I think this article really explains Montessori well, as opposed to just giving it a technical definition.

This website does a good job of explaining how teachers use “Brain Based Learning” in the classroom. Many Atlanta area schools are currently implementing Brain based learning, and they may mention that on their school tours and curriculum explanations.

Most local private school applications are due in late January, to start the following autumn school year. You can contact ASI to find out the due date for a specific school.

Church Preschool Applications Due

Deadlines vary, but most preschools are accepting applications beginning in November for the following Autumn starting school year. Some of these preschools fill up fast, so make sure to get it in the mail on the first available date.

SSAT Registration Deadlines

Private School Open Houses

Start your school search early so that you have adequate time to complete necessary testing and to gather all of the required application materials.
